Could the arts be America’s secret weapon to helping all students succeed? We think so and thank you for visiting the Arts Education Partnership’s website.
Here you will find a circle of support for your ideas, leadership, and voice in making the arts an essential part of a complete education for every child – especially our most underserved who show the greatest improvement in academic achievement when participating in the arts.
As you will discover, AEP serves as a national hub for critical information and communication about current and emerging arts education policies, issues, and activities at the national, state, and local levels. And high quality research serves as a hallmark of our work because evidence in action is power.
So we’re counting on you to take action in the national movement around education reform, especially as research sheds new light on the essential role of the arts in not only enhancing academic performance and nurturing creativity but also in fostering personal development – all critical to preparing students for success in college and careers.
Our young people are undeniably the rightful, capable heirs to America’s greatness whose ingenuity will lead to innovations that change the world. So, let’s get to it and do our part to keep the arts strong in America’s schools, giving every child the opportunity to create, learn and achieve.
Here are a few steps we can take together:
- Make a more compelling case for how and why the arts matter for all students
- Support best practices for teaching in and through the arts
- Advocate for public policies that strengthen the place of the arts in the curriculum
- Call for better research to close the “equity gap” in student access to a quality arts education
