Behind the efforts of running back Christian McCaffrey, Stanford controlled the tempo and pounded the UCLA defense into submission, as the sophomore finishing the day with a school record 243 rushing yards along with his four touchdowns. Senior quarterback Kevin Hogan contributed through the air with 131 yards and three scores, providing an over-the-top threat to aid in McCaffrey's ground game production.
On the opposite sideline, true freshman quarterback Josh Rosen struggled to spark the Bruin offense throughout the game, as he finished with 325 yards passing, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Further, the UCLA defense was incapable of slowing down the Cardinal rush attack, giving up 310 total yards on the ground.
Next up, Stanford (5-1, 4-0 Pac-12) will host North division foe Washington in an attempt to maintain its undefeated conference record. Meanwhile, UCLA (4-2, 1-2 Pac-12) will play a second consecutive Thursday night game, this time hosting a tough Cal squad in Los Angeles.
