State College, PA -Massaro CMS was hired by the State College School District to provide agency construction management services for the District’s High School renovation project. Renovations and additions to the occupied facility are expected to take three years and the High School will be completed for the 2018-2019 school year.
When completed, the 500, 000 SF high school will reconfigure the current high school which is housed in two separate buildings divided by Westerly Parkway.
The South building will house state of the art educational facilities configured into learning pods. The three to four story learning pods will house all academic programs including career and technology, science, math, language and the arts programs. A new auditorium and black box theatre will also be constructed. Renovations and upgrades to the existing theatre and cafeteria as well as the reconfiguration of existing classrooms, administrative and support spaces complete the scope of the south high portion of the project.
A large portion of the North building will be demolished due to the fact that most of the academic programs will be relocated to the South building. A new building to house the DELTA program will be constructed to provide new and invigorating learning spaces for the DELTA students. A new cafeteria and public spaces are also included.
