Boro loan star Kenneth Omeruo has moved closer to a dream trip to Brazil after being named in Nigeria’s provisional World Cup squad.
Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has called up 30 players on his long list to a training camp before he trims it to 23 at the end of May.
The tournament starts on June 12 and Nigeria, reigning African Cup of Nations champions, will be making a fifth appearance. They are in the same group as Argentina, Iran and Bosnia.

— kenneth omeruo (@omeruo22)Defender Omeruo, who played 14 times for Boro after arriving in January, is said to have rejected the opening offer of a new deal at Chelsea.
His agent Chika Akujobi slammed Chelsea’s proposed terms saying his international pedigree and a successful spell at Boro should make him more desirable to the club.
“Chelsea have made an offer for Kenneth, but we believe he deserves much more than they are offering, ” he said.
“He has done well at Middlesbrough and he will be going to the World Cup with Nigeria and all these should count for something.”
Omeruo joined Chelsea from Standard Liege in 2012 but was immediately loaned to Dutch side ADO Den Haag.
