DIRECTORATE OF HIGHER EDUCATION

The Directorate, since its inception, has been giving away scholarships to needy and meritorious undergraduate as well as postgraduate students every year. The following is a list of such provisions:Activities Time line P.G. Research Scholarship :- Application are invite by the Director of Higher Education, Assam through Advertised and a committee in constituted by Govt. and selected the eligible students for P.G. Research Scholarship in every year.

September/October in every year for advertisement.

Combined Merit Scholarship :- The Merit Scholarship is alloways published by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council and furnished the same to the Director of Higher Education for selected the Meritorious students for awarding scholarships as per marks obtained in Higher Secondary Final Examination.

National Merit Scholarships :- The National Merit Scholarship had been discontinued by Govt. of India from April, 2007 as inform by Assam Higher Secondary Education council Govt. may be informed accordingly.

National Merit Scholarship for Non-Hindi Speaking Students :- Application are invited by the Director of Higher Education, Assam, through Advertisement from the Non-Hindi speaking eligible students. Accordingly the Director of Higher Education, Assam selected candidates as per to marks prescribed in the Advertisement.

is any courses recognised by dec is valid for govt. job and higher education? | Yahoo Answers

Colleges for MBA degrees need recognition from AICTE. Universities need recognition from UGC. Recognition provisions are similar for regular class room course and distance learning course. Check the recognition of institution on the above basis. There are many recognized universities/colleges where you can enroll for MBA without entrance test, in case you are not willing to take the test.

There is free education for all until the age of 14.
Government provides the basic education as per the terms of 'literacy'.
Children getting these education are no more illiterate. So govt did its job of improving the literacy rate.
However beyond the 'basic education' (that is necessary as per law to be defined as a literate) , the govt doesn't provide the service for free.
Though the govt has a criteria of reserving quotas for underprivileged students , it still can't be regarding as 'free education by govt'
