– Community members will have the chance to experience the vocal talents of High Point University’s a cappella groups in concert this weekend. The university will host the Jelly and Jam concert at 6 p.m. on April 26 in Phillips Auditorium. The event is open to the public.
Admission to the concert is free, but canned food donations will be collected to support New Beginnings Food Bank.
Two of HPU’s a cappella groups, the Toccatatones and the Petal Points, will perform short musical programs. High school students from Penn-Griffin School for the Arts will also perform.
The Toccatatones and the Petal Points will also host singing workshops with the high school students during the afternoon in advance of the performance.
“We hope a great crowd will join us for a night of music and fun, ” says Dr. Charmaine Cadeau, assistant professor of English and member of the Cultural Programming Committee. “Showcasing the brilliant musical talent among us is a fitting way to round out this semester’s Community Enrichment Series lineup.”
