Through this degree program, students prepare to teach art in the K-12 art class while actively engaging in and contributing to the field of visual art education.
LCU art students make presentations at the Texas Art Education Association Conference and other regional conferences, they exhibit their work at the university and within the community, and they have even published in regional journals. They are engaged in on-site learning through field and travel opportunities, giving back to others through art while they learn.

The B.A. in Art Education is Lubbock Christian University's "art heaviest"; degree and includes 48 credits of art courses in Art History, Art Education, studio Art (including computer-based Art courses), and Art Theory and Criticism.
The Department of Communication/Fine Arts collaborates with the Department of Education to prepare the Art Education major for teacher certification for the K-12 Art class.
